List of Noble Metals

Here is a list of noble metals, which are metals that resist oxidation and corrosion. RutheniumRhodiumPalladiumSilverOsmiumIridiumPlatinumGold Some lists include mercury as a noble metal. Rhenium is also included as a noble metal by some scientists and engineers. While noble metals retain their shiny color, base metals tend to oxidize in moist air. However, some metals that resist corrosion are not considered noble metals. These include titanium, niobium, and tantalum. In atomic physics, the noble metal group consists of copper, silver, and gold. Only these three elements have completely filled d-subshells. Children s Arrest From Bullying Case Distress Tennessee...

In Christine Hauser’s article, â€Å"Children’s Arrest in Bullying Case Distress Tennessee City,† Hauser reports and explains the â€Å"brawl† that occurred in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Hauser reports that there were two sides in this case. One side believes that the police overstepped their boundaries and the other side believes this case was not just about bullying. Therefor, Hauser effectively used the elements of pathos and ethos to address why she believed this was another case of policing gone wrong in the 21st century. Throughout the article, Hauser frequently and effectively used pathos to address a much larger issue at hand. For example, Hauser explains that the â€Å"round up of such young children, all under the age of 12, has shaken almost every sector of the city and state, from the legislature to the churches.† It is evident that Hauser was trying to make the readers angry by using the words â€Å"round up† and â€Å"young child ren.† Pointblank, criminals and animals are meant to be rounded up; not children. Therefor, in this situation, Hauser effectively proved that the police looked at these children like they were criminals who needed to be taught a lesson. Hauser then uses the word â€Å"shaken† to induce another emotion. Shaken is synonymous with â€Å"getting rid of or putting an end to something.† With that in mind, â€Å"shaken† represents the mens rea of the police officers; the police officers were trying to eliminate the children. When people communicate, they hardly notice their body languages. They do not realize that their body language is just as powerful as their words. Communication can be affected by the body language. Through body language, two people can communicate without ever saying anything. Through body language people can predict which certain characteristic a person posses. These characteristics can be masculine, feminine, or androgyny. Body language includes body hand gestures and other non verbal methods of communication. Nonverbal communication can be affected not only based on society’s view of a particular sex and what its characteristics should be, but also one’s cultural beliefs. While these cultures may exist within one society, they vary in their method of communication. Acco rding to Hall, 1990, Whites are more likely to use verbal communication than non whites. Many people from different culture are somewhat ethnocentric. Ethnocentricity therefore makes it difficult to respect each other’s method of communication. Nonverbal communications are more likely to be misread by someone outside of that particular culture, than verbal communication. However, within the same culture, non verbal communication can still be misunderstood. Many people for example in India are allowed to greet the opposite sex with a kiss on the cheek; whereas, in a place like Japan, this type of behavior is forbidden not only between the opposite sexes, but among the same sex. Instead of kissing each other on the cheek, their culture requires them to bow. In places like Italy, both genders are allowed to kiss each other on the cheek, but in places like the Middle East, a man is forbidden from kissing a woman on the cheek. The men are only allowed to kiss members of the sa me sex on the cheek as means of greeting. Friendship among the same gender also differs from one culture to another. Question: Discuss about the Case Study. Answer: Introduction Doc billing system is a company that offers support to patients in terms of offering the necessary services that the patients require. However, Doc billing system has been experiencing challenges in its operations hence this paper seeks to point out the various challenges and problems that the company is facing and also recommend on the structure reorganizations that may help it become more efficient. Problems and Challenges There are various challenges and problems in this system, first, there is little and poor communication between the managers and their teams as seen in the conversation. According to Carlos ( a senior insurance consultant) a meeting is yet to be convened by Dana ( a manager). Dana is yet to meet her team members three months into the job. Doc system billing is also experiencing financial problems which have affected negatively on the productivity of the employees. The company can offer better services if they employed more staff to deal with the many cases arising(DePamphilis, 2008). However, Jim has told Dave that the company has no money to hire more workers. As it stands now one of the challenges that is brought about by lack of adequate numbers of staff makes the processing times be more longer than it should. According to the manager, they stand to lose clients if they dont reverse this trend and ensure that the processing time is reduced. At the moment, only 80% of the clients of Doc System Inc are satisfied with the services that the company offers. Another problem that the company faces is poor leadership, the directors and managers are not in control of their teams. Jim seems to be the type of leader who doesnt deal with a problem when it supposed to be solved, he postpones the problems and this is evident when he tells Dave to schedule a meeting after a month to solve the current issues. Also, Dana who is in charge of Carlos and Mitchells team has not yet met with them to chat on the way forward for her team. This type of leadership is affecting the efficiency of the company. Interventions One of the interventions that can bring change to this company is organizational restricting, The Case above demonstrate the significance of the organization restructuring are: It is of a continuing nature; since the company is subject to constant changes, restructring is an ongoing process new products ways of operating (Blackmore Sachs, 2007). Secondly, It is a means to achieve the objectives of the company.Such as in meetings. Thirdlyit enables activities to be done efficiently Observations About Jim Jim is not an effective leader because he postpones problems instead of tackling them right at the spot. Secondly, Jim is not an approachable leader; this is evident as we can see that Carlos and Mitchell are afraid of expressing what they really feel about the new model when Jim is in the room(Jasper Jumaa, 2005). However, when they are together with Dave, it is easy for them to express how they feel about the new model that is about to be introduced. Conclusion As Dave puts it the company needs serious reorganization so that it can operate in an efficient way. First, the employees need to and the management need to have a structured and honest way of communication. Secondly, allocation of workneeds to be done in a fair way because some employeesareoverworked while others are underworked such as Carlos.
